After a degree in Fine Art Painting, I switched to exploring 3-dimensional media finally settling on wire and metal mesh. When I’m not watching or sketching wildlife, I can be found in my workshop in North Yorkshire next to the river Swale. I exhibit my own work in indoor and outdoor venues, work to commission and run sculpture workshops.
About My Work:
I make sculptures from wire and metal mesh, of wild and domestic birds and beasts; everything from a wren to a horse. I aim for an understanding of physiognomy and behaviour, how muscles work when a subject walks or turns, in order to convey a sense of life captures at a particular moment.
